CLASH OF CLANS

Information with pictures:
This is an analisis of one of the criticians of IGN:

Clash of Clans is a free to play iOS game developed by Supercell. Clash of Clans is compatible on the iPhone, iTouch, and iPad platforms.

The premise of the game is to establish a base and protect it by building up defenses. Erect walls, build cannons, and various types of towers. After you feel secure or after your shield burns out, you can attack other players and steal their loot.

This game is very fun and very addicting. Please make sure you keep your charger around. While you are online you cannot be attacked, but if the screen falls asleep and you don't have a shield you will be. This could easily be rated a five star game, but I have a few points to knock off.

First, it is an iOS game only. I do have an iTouch and an iPad, but they are only Wi-Fi and not 3G. 3G users get to manage their villages at anytime. If this game were available on the Android devices, I would get much play time logged into it.

Second, gems are a valuable asset to have when you can find them. Being a free to play game, the option to buy more with real world money is available. This allows for the players that have the means to purchase, will always have an edge over the non-paying players.

The ability to purchase gems with in the games economy should have been considered in the game design. Personally, I would have done something along the lines of making the players buy gems with gold AND elixir. For instance, 100,000 gold and 100,000 elixir would buy 10 gems. Finally, finding friends should be a little easier. They only way to find friends are by searching for their clans name or sifting through the leader boards. This game is perfect to have for your iPad and is the best experience over the iTouch and iPhones.

Note: The game is available for Android operation system devices (Samsung Galaxy, Google Nexus, LG, HTC, Motorola, Sony Ericson, Dell Streak and many others)

This game has many strategic elements. If speaking about collecting resources becomes critical or the fact to know what to do to grow in rank and be entertained by the game.
Basically I behave to the inicial strategy of any strategy game called strategy because its strategical functions and simply build up all resourcers. Meaning, of each type the maximum amount possible. Reaching this goal, let me focus on the second basic which is maximize each one to the maximum level possible. Secure but little slow strategy makes me wait for aditional one or two days than others, time used by other type of players to focus on a general level of all building and finding themselves with the lack of resources in a close future. So then:

1) Build up all resourcers (7 elixir collectors and 7 gold mines).
2) Upgrade all 7 collectors and 7 mines to level 11 (maximum).

To complete first and second point all those who are following me noticed already that you need a town hall upgrade so you can upgrade for a higher level. Level 3 elixir collector requires level 4 town hall and so on. Before explaining you further I want to point out that there is a high penalty on loots when you upgrade town hall to level 9 so, if you want to be a more aggressive player don't upgrade your collectors and mines higher than 8 (so you won't need to upgrade your town hall to 9) but if you are sure you want to be passive until you are a really strong player continue:

Build up all collectors and mines possible. At the beggining if I correct remember you can build 2 or 3. Upgrade them to level 2. Then upgrade Town hall to level 3. So you can upgrade them again but this time to level 3. And so on. If you have doubts you can register on Exclusive content page and be part of the group, so you will be able to access to special content such as Tutorials page were everything is explained with more details, step by step.

Once you got to 7 gold mines and 7 elixir collectors to level 11, is recommended to build up all possible walls and upgrade them at least to Gold level (I think is 5, you will see them, it looks like gold wall, trust me) minimum before starting to fight with other players because when you do, you eventually will be rank promoted and you will be using high amounts of resources that will help you upgrade barracks and dark elixir barracks (Dark elixir is a resource that only appears after Town Hall upgraded to 10).

Fטcking Hostile:"A clan for those who scare no one of nothing and their only goal is to be admired and respected"

I would like to point out that Fטcking Hostile is an alliance that like many other of my alliances, can help you with important aid and been an alliance that from its begginings has minimum requirement of level that´s always growing depending of the amount of members, you always have the security of been in the strongest clan. The history tells us about slaves that became gladiators and best world´s champs in combat. The only need they had is to want to be better and survive for a better tomorrow of glory. This is exactly what Jei Group´s Fטcking Hostile gives to its members, a future filled with glory and goals reached. Waste no more time and search for us in the clan searcher. I recommend to search for Hostile due to the fact that the U of Fטcking is a ט, not a letter existing in English alphabet.

EMPIRE Z

Information with pictures:
This is an analisis of one of the criticians of TapZone:

Quoted from games profile page:" Empire Z is an intense combination of city building and alliance warfare with other live players. Create an unstoppable army of Commando’s, Boomers, and mighty Zombie Dozers. Forge an alliance with other players and rise through the leaderboards."

I discover Empire Z at Facebook commercial. Usually I'm able to skip every ad without even realising, but this time I was somehow hooked by icon. Zombies? Withing tycoon / simulation genre? I'v been looking for an alternative for Rebuild for a while, and decide to take a sneak peek. After installing I was introduced to game with rather good production values: Great graphics and somewhat mediocre (but honest for the theme) soundtrack. Tutorial welcomed me to game, and I was told about the backstory. Humanity had failed, and what's left are holding themselves at small camps & forts. It's time to start rebuilding and forging alliances.

Apparently game was released with a hurry, for I was unable to complete even my first objective: Naming my character. As I entered name and confirmed it, my character was still "Guest" with random numbers and letters. UI seemed clear enough, so I jumped to profile to check if I could rename my character. After changing the name I became bit baffled... where can I continue tutorial? Apparently... i couldn't.

So I was left to strange new game, without any help. Fortunately UI seemed polished. I quickly discovered my mission objectives and started building required buildings. For some reason buildings could be compl eted instantly if they take less than 5 mins to build / upgrade. First I though this might be a bug, but this might be part of mechanics of tutorial which I seem to be missing.
Early on my missions I was guided to join an alliance. Alliance menu showed me a list of open Alliances I quickly discovered my preferred alliance by geographical location. Joining was simple. After this things became interesting: I found chat dialog at left part of screen, which allows chat within global and alliance channels, as well as send private messages. My alliance was getting new members almost every minute, so apparently game is finding new players all the time.
Apparently there are few minor bugs here and there (in addition to apparently broken tutorial). For example, my character portraits level up -icon is flashing even after levelling up, being misinformative.

Day 2

I had some misluck with my marching armies. First enemy I took against seemed like weaker target, but had almost 10 times larger army waiting to defend. I was slaughtered. After this I decided to start growing my army quite a lot, but this lead to strange problem: My food resource was displaying red for no apparent reason, and I was losing more food than earning. I quickly figured out there has to be somekind of upkeep mechanism, although it didn't seem apparent at first. After a while I was able to confirm this. I harvested less than I used. After a while I recognized it's way more beneficial to build 8 farms than levelling only few. Enter Farmzone! Now I'm able to upkeep over 3000 units. Game has few small but great features. One is requesting for help on building and researching from allies. Whenever you are doing something, you can ask for help by simply clicking "Help!" -button. As other allies are doing same, I get small "help allies" -button. Mechanism is simple, but it makes you feel like a part of larger coalition. I found quite a few features being hard to understand or simply misleading. For example, my recruiting station has lots of units locked for no apparent reason... maybe I'll just have to level up that station? After levelling up over seven levels I'm still unable to open units... and finally I recognize that units are opened through research tree. This might seem logical, but game doesn't give any feedback on why something is happening as it is.

Another problem comes with warfare. When you attack another player, clash simply playes out and gives summary, without any indication of why something happens as it did. Apparently there is somekind of rock-paper-scissors-lizard-spock -mechanism, giving some units leverage over others. This is shown on unit statistics ("good vs infected", "poor against demolitions"), but it's a shame battles are extremely shallow. There are no apparent tactics available. As my journey continues, I'm starting to have mixed feelings over Empire Z. There are highs and lows, but it's too early to say if things how things play out after few more days.

z + 5 days

The following days continued the same way as I had predicted. I built upgrades for my existing buildings, made few raids, spent time growing my army and filled daily missions. Life in Z infected world wasn't easy, as I soon discovered. At the beginning my closest neighbors were over 5 clicks away, and most potential enemies were with 10 click range. After some days players just kept coming and area started filling with low level players. This wasn't a problem, as I could punish low level players if needed... but at the end of the week one of the most powerful alliances, FoR, moved their full forces close to my HQ. This could prove to be troubling.

... but what troubles me even more is the lack of content. Sure there are dozens of things to upgrade and research, but I simply couldn't make any sense on why to battle other survivors. Winning a battle seems to earn only currency, which is used for researching and upgrading. As of now I'm already getting more currency from my base than I can spend. Winning a battle usually results to attacking player losing more units (=death) than defender player (who gets only injured units), so to my logic it seems better to just stay put and build defending forces rather than attack... and that simply ain't fun. As for freemium mechanics, game is perfectly playable without paying anything, but it falls to pay-to-win -category, as it's clear that people spending real money get much needed advantages for levelling up. Still, if you are not looking for competing on leaderboards there is nothing to worry about.

Empire Z simply lacks fun battles. We have a hybrid game of Civilization and Kabam-like games with good graphics, working UI and many small neat features, but what Empire Z needs is a clear target for player to try to archieve. Game doesn't reward for playing, other than seeing how you get another +500 units, get 0.5% advantage for combat and earned another +100 tons of food last night. Researching for statistics just ain't as fun as it might sound on mindstorming. I'm sure this could be done, just as Civilization games and even casual games such as Big Business Deluxe have proved over and over again, but Empire Z isn't doing this right. Game basically has the same highs and lows as Hobbit: Kingdoms or other similar games. Empire Z gave me few thrills for a week, but I'm afraid that it's time for me to continue my search for the holy grail of 4xMMO stragy games.

ps. It's a bit strange there isn't any information of Empire Z anywhere else but Ember Entertainments Facebook -page. Game isn't featured even on Embers own homepage, so what we are currently experiencing could be a softlaunch session targeted for smaller audience. I'll definetly continue to watch for info of upcoming updates & patches, in case there is any developement on gameplay upgrades.
Tested on Samsung Galaxy S3 & S5. 7-day testperiod.
Empire Z is available for Android platform. Status of iPhone / iPad is unknown.

The strategy of this game is basically build up all resource buildings possible in a way it gives equal amount of resource income of each resource (there is five). Not much to talk about the strategy in this game due to its intituive gameplay. If you want you can register in Exclusive content to acces to special content such as Tutorials were it´s explained with details and step by step.

After building you need to upgrade them all, actually level 10 is recommended for basic economy income. Then I recommend to research Economic technologies in the Research lab. When you have Gathering Speed at 5, Plant whispering at 5, March speed at 5, Lumber, Oil and Metal at 5, you can move to Defense to unlock Watchtower. When Watchtower is unlocked you can pass to unblock all vehicules and infected units.

Once you become a member after registering and you are allowed to see and enter Tutorials page, you will be able to access to Strategy techniques. Strategy techniques are what to do to get a specific goal. Explained step by step, the Strategy technique leaves all thinking how to get something with the simplicity of choosing a path and follow the indications to get what you want. Strongly recommended for beginners.
